Game Time! Goosebumps: Terror in the Graveyard Game Review

Goosebumps: Terror in the Graveyard Game

Year: 1995

Ages: 7+

Players: 2-4 (For the purpose of this review, 2 people played)

Playing Time: Took us 18 minutes.

Object: Find the magic ring card and destroy the headless ghost.

Review
+ I love that each players has both a male and a female pawn and that they can use both during the game.
+ All of the characters that you can play as were people taken from the Goosebump Book series. For example, Andrea & Evan are from Monster Blood #3.
+ Lots of interactive board features. Players roll 2 dice, one of them being numbered and the other which has 3 pictures on it which feature the same picture as the three tombs on the board. When you roll a Mummy, you push the tomb either forward or backward in the board space and that changes one third of the board spaces. So the game can change very quickly just by the roll of the dice and which direction the player decides to move the tomb. Also when you make it to the end of the board, you take the little skull and roll it down the top of the tomb. If it goes down the right side and hits the headless ghost than he will jump off his spring and you win.

- Just like all games that are 3D cardboard set ups, it's hard to maintain their quality and structure over time. This game was well played when I was growing up and because of that we had to improvise to make things stand up properly.

Overall:
Growing up this was one of our favorite games to play. We loved the ability to trap each other in tombs, to be able as the boy pawn or the girl pawn and to be able to turn other players into monsters and creatures from the book series. The interactive features brought this game to a whole new level. With this game board now being 20 years old, the cardboard pieces don't work as well as they once did, but perfectly working or not, this will always be a favorite to play.
